Hiking in Cape Town

Table Mountain is one of the oldest mountains on earth. At 600-800 million years, it is 6 times older than the Himalayas. Table Mountain National Park stretches from above the City of Cape Town and all the way to Cape of Good Hope. It offers a multitude of hiking trails with various degrees of difficulty. The Cape Floristic Region - often referred to a the Fynbos biome - is the smallest of the six floral kingdoms of the world, but it contains over 9000 different plants species. Almost 70% of these are endemic to the region.

Shipwreck Trail

CAPE OF GOOD HOPE NATURE RESERVE

A total of 26 shipwrecks tell the story of how many ships sailed too close to the shoreline. The Thomas T. Tucker trail starts inside the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and runs along the rocky coastline down to the unspolt white beaches of the reserve.
